GIS and Remote Sensing specialist with over 12 years of professional experience in geodatabase management, Metadata creation, geospatial analysis and modeling, land use/land cover mapping, spatial data infrastructure (SDI) development, and spatial MRV related land monitoring systems development in Ethiopia for government & donor-funded projects. Proven expertise in integrated land use planning and suitability analysis for natural resource management. Currently serving at Hawassa University, Ethiopia, he has extensive experience in delivering advanced GIS and remote sensing courses to over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate students annually, covering topics such as cadastral surveying, environmental informatics, GIS programming, and interactive web mapping.

My core competencies span big data analysis (GEE, R, Python), integrated land use planning, land zonation, suitability analysis, and environmental modeling. I have a demonstrated significant expertise in geodatabase design, spatial data infrastructure (SDI) development, and remote sensing-based monitoring for GHG inventories, supporting climate-smart mainstreaming initiatives through tools such as InVEST, EX-ACT, and IPCC Inventory Software.

As a key member of multiple national projects, including the MRV-SDI development team and the Land Administration Center at Hawassa University supported by GIZ, I led geospatial teams in designing data integration workflows, web mapping systems (PostGIS, GeoServer, GeoNode, ArcGIS Online), and geospatial dashboards (Google Earth Engine, Leaflet, PHP).
