Professional Summary

My name is Salis Abdul Gafoor, and I am a postgraduate in Applied Geology with a certification in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I am currently working as a Geophysicist at the Arab Center for Engineering Studies (ACES) in the UAE. My role at ACES has allowed me to apply advanced geophysical techniques to analyze subsurface conditions, providing crucial data for infrastructure development and environmental sustainability projects.

I am deeply passionate about GIS and its transformative potential in environmental management. Recognizing this, I have been actively pursuing further education and practical experience in GIS to enhance my expertise. My goal is to transition my career from geophysics to a focused specialization in GIS, where I believe I can make a more significant impact on environmental sustainability and resource management.

Joining the Emirati Society of GIS and Remote Sensing (ESGRS) aligns perfectly with my professional aspirations and passion for GIS. As a member of ESGRS, I am eager to engage with fellow professionals, share my insights, and contribute to the advancement of GIS and remote sensing technologies in the UAE. I am particularly interested in leveraging GIS for innovative environmental solutions and sustainable practices.

With my strong foundation in geology, practical experience in geophysics, and growing proficiency in GIS, I am confident that I can bring valuable perspectives and skills to the ESGRS community. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and make meaningful contributions to the society's mission and initiatives.
